Multiply your lawn’s square footage by 0.62 gallons, the equivalent of an inch of water per square foot. This will determine the total number of gallons you need to water your entire lawn.
Square Footage X 0.62 Gallons = Amount of Water it Takes to Water Your Lawn
Next, multiply the amount of water it takes to water your lawn by how many days a week you water.
Currently, you’re only supposed to water once per week in the winter. This number goes up to three days a week in the fall and spring, and six in the summer.
Amount of Water X Number of Days You Water Per Week = Water You Use Per Week
Lastly multiply the number of weeks in your billing cycle with how much water you use per week.
Water You Use Per Week X Number of Weeks in Billing Cycle = Monthly Water Use
